On production days, we created a video village in the Advance Auto Parts store where our clients could sit and watch from a separate area, and return feedback of each take through walkie-talkies and earpieces.

One of the biggest challenges we faced was keeping the particular store up and running while we were filming in various sections. We had to carefully plan shots around the customers without disturbance. Our success with this allowed us to be on schedule throughout while keeping each customer happy.
Meanwhile, outside of the store was a large tent where the crew, cast, clients and staff members could unwind during lunch; complete with tables, power outlets, wifi, and other amenities. We were also in and out of the store every day without a trace left behind.

Every moment in production was accounted for. There was always movement, and our team was as efficient as ever. The material we covered was extensive, but with a calculated shot list, and seasoned cast and crew, we were able to stick to the schedule. Now, on to post!

Jarrett Martin may not have been born on a drop zone, but he was certainly raised on one. He
achieved more skydiving goals before his eighteenth birthday than many do in a lifetime. His
thirst for adrenaline led to more serious risks – BASE jumping, ground-launching, and speed
flying. One day, the summer after high school, the parachute didn’t open. Now paralyzed from
the chest down, and confined to a wheelchair, 21-year-old Jarrett continues to live an
adrenaline-fueled life.

Sky High, a feature length documentary, follows him as he trains for the 2011 USPA National
Skydiving Championship, in which he will be the only paralyzed competitor. Along this
emotional journey, Jarrett rekindles his love for piloting, BASE jumping, and challenges the
support of his closest friends and family.
Having worn a helmet camera on almost every jump, Jarrett has allowed us access to his
story – through his eyes. Newfangled Studios has obtained hours of footage of his rise in
skydiving, the tragic accident, and his arduous recovery. Our camera crew steps in during
Jarrett’s triumphant return to the sport, witnesses his first BASE jump as a paraplegic, and
ultimately covers his performance in the 2011 USPA National Skydiving Championship. His
story is one of addiction, overcoming the odds, and unfathomable bravery.

Sky High will be premiering at Boston International Film Festival on Monday,
April 15. The screening will take place at AMC Theatres at 175 Tremont
Street, Boston Common.
