Creative Director/Founder
Macaela is Newfangled’s Founder and fearless leader. A passionate storyteller, Macaela has been an active producer & editor in the Boston area since 2003. After working for some of Boston’s finest agencies & production companies, she noticed a trend – if you wanted high quality, stylish video, you had to involve two or three vendors to complete one project. Newfangled was born to provide an all in one solution – shoot, design, edit, finish under one roof. On the rare occasion she’s not at Newfangled, Macaela can be found relaxing on her deck in Somerville with her lovely wife and ill-behaved cat.
Jenna VanderMost
Executive Producer
Jenna heads the producing department at Newfangled, and has worked on major brands such as Google, Virgin HealthMiles, Buick, New Balance, and Fidelity. She is responsible for keeping everything on track and overseeing all projects from beginning, to end. Prior to Newfangled, Jenna was an account manager for eight years at firms in Boston and Los Angeles.
Cathy Shiflett
Associate Producer
Cathy is a photographer-turned-producer who spent her first few years in Boston making her way to every photo and film shoot that would have her. Now she uses her creativity to make sure productions run smoothly. In her spare time, you can find Cathy playing with her new Nikon D800, going on intense hiking adventures, and eating the occasional breakfast sandwich.
Fred Kennedy
Motion Graphic Designer
Fred Kennedy is the resident geek at Newfangled aka the “graphics guy”. When he’s not at Newfangled getting teased for watching tutorials before bed at night (…nothing wrong with that!), you can most likely find him on a mountain, cliffside, or out on his kayak crackin’ a cold one with friends. Fred is a graduate of the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College.
Eric Van der Vynckt
Editor
Eric is a passionate filmmaker, editor, and cinematographer. The only thing Eric loves more than the process of filmmaking is an iced cold glass of coca-cola. He is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Art, and currently pursuing his MFA at Emerson where he gets to make weird videos as assignments, see to the right for proof.
Kyle Couture
Editor/Director of Photography
A graduate of Mass college of Art, Kyle has worked as freelance DP, editor and motion designer in the Boston Area. In addition to his passion for all things photography, Kyle is an avid skater and spends his free time hiking the mountains of New England.
